The Save a Stray 5K & Festival runs concurrently with L.L.Bean’s Dog Days of August event!

Friday, August 24, 2018

4:00 – 7:00pmPacket Pick Up & Registration, Discovery Park

6:00 – 7:00pm, Save a Stray Puppy Fray!  Discovery Park
Watch adorable and adoptable doggies from the Coastal Humane Society frolic and play!

Starting at 6:00pm,  Friday Night Movie: “The Secret Life of Pets”, Discovery Park
Pick up dinner at the 1912 Cafe or other fine Freeport restaurant, bring a blanket, and join us for a picnic in the park with a beloved family movie.

7:40am, 5K Registration Ends, but Check-In and Walker Registration Continues, Discovery Park

8:00am, Save a Stray 5K Run Begins, Morse Street

8:30am, One Mile Walk Begins, Morse Street

8:30am – 2:00pm, 10-Minute Massages with Brown Chiropractic and Wellness, Discovery Park
Relax after your walk or run with a short, free massage, courtesy of our friends at Brown Chiropractic and Wellness.

9:00am, 5K Awards Ceremony, Discovery Park   
Prizes will be awarded to the top male and female finisher in eight different age groups. Prizes will range from Honey Stinger apparel to L.L.Bean gift cards and everything in between!

9:30am, Dog Contests, Discovery Park
Think your dog is the best? Compete against other dogs and owners in these contests just for canines… and go home with prizes! Dog/owner pairs are welcome to compete in more than one category. No need to register in advance — just show up at the stage!

10:00am – Noon, Kris MacCabe and K-9 Morgan, from “North Woods Law”, Morse Street
The duo, who spent four seasons on Animal Planet TV’s hit show, come to the L.L.Bean campus for a meet and greet with fans!

10:00am – 2:00pm, Animal Communication with Judy Garbow, Discovery Patio
Find out what your dogs are feeling and thinking. Judy will be happy to engage you and your animal in an interspecies communication of their field of energy and yours.

10:00am – 6:00pm,  DockDogs, Moose Park
Watch novice to seasoned dogs compete in a long jump, high jump and timed retrieval. Do you have a dog who loves to jump into the water? Sign them up at dockdogs.com or register them at the event!

11:00am – Noon, Ask a Veterinarian, Morse Street
Come ask a local vet questions regarding the care and health of your dog.

11:00am – 1:00pm, Meet Millie of Maine, Discovery Park
Since 2012, this vivacious yellow lab has accompanied the L.L.Bean Bootmobile team to events as a faithful companion and an adorable brand ambassador.

11:00am – 4:00pm, Planet Dog’s Bobbing for Orbees, Discovery Park
Visit the Planet Dog tent and let your dog try their luck at bobbing for recyclable, buoyant Orbees toys. Dogs who are successful will get a prize.

Noon – 2:00pm, Rabies PLUS! Clinic, Morse Street
All dogs in the state of Maine must be vaccinated against rabies every three years. Enjoy discounted costs today only!

12:30pm – 1:15pm, K-9 Unit Demonstration, Discover Park
Watch Freeport Police Officer Moorhouse and K-9 Cassie perform a live demonstration.
